The White Mountains are host to many events all year round. There are far too many for us to list them all, so we will try to highlight some of the largest ones on this page – but for a more detailed list, these websites are a great resource:

May 2026

  • All Month beginning May 8: “Of Birds and Places” a fantastical collaboration by Michele Johnsen and Gretchen Woodman – The Gallery at WREN – Bethlehem, NH – A vibrant celebration of nature, Of Birds and Places is a collaborative exhibition rooted in a shared love of landscape and the fantastical. Through bold color, expressive mark-making, and whimsical birds that drift between the real and the surreal, the artists explore the space where place and imagination meet. | Free & Open to Public.

  • May 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17: Spring Adventure Tours on the Mt. Washington Auto Road – Gorham, NH – Join us on our Spring Adventure Tour where we bring you to see the Auto Road during the road clearing process.
  • May 15, 16, 17: Titanic the Musical presented by Theatre UP – Littleton, NH – This stirring musical depicts the hopes and aspirations of actual passengers on board the ill-fated ship, from the wealthy and powerful in first class, to the ambitious middle-class passengers, to the poor immigrants in steerage – all thrilled to be part of this historic voyage, hopeful for the future, and blissfully unaware of the tragedy ahead.
  • May 15Rock N’ Roll Circus ft. James Montgomery, Danny Klein, Jon Butcher, and Johnny A. at the Flying Monkey Movie House & Performance Center – Plymouth, NH – This high‑energy benefit concert is more than a show—it’s a full‑on birthday blowout honoring two legendary New England musicians, while supporting a local charity.| DOORS 6:00 PM | SHOW 7:30 PM.

  • May 21: Shaker Village Barn Dance – Canterbury Shaker Village, Canterbury, NH – On May 21st and June 18th, from 7:30-10pm, we will host dances at Canterbury Shaker Village. We’ll have a hot live band of fiddler Jordan Tirrell-Wysocki, caller David Millstone, and pianist Sue Hunt playing lively, foot-stomping square and traditional dancing music. | 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM.
  • May 22, 24, 25: Spring Pottery Classes – North Conway, NH – The North Conway League of NH Craftsmen Gallery is hosting a number of pottery classes for adults and kids! Learn to make pottery on the wheel, or clay ocarinas!
  • May 22Superunknown – A Tribute to the Legacy of Chris Cornell at the Flying Monkey Movie House & Performance Center – Plymouth, NH – Superunknown is the premier, internationally touring tribute to the music of Chris Cornell. | DOORS 6:00 PM | SHOW 7:30 PM. | Ages 13+ 
  • May 23: Makers on the Mount – Mount Washington Cruises. Laconia, NH – This Memorial Day Weekend, we invite you to join us in celebrating the local spirit of our artisan community. We’ve partnered with the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen to transform the decks of the M/S Mount Washington into a floating studio.
  • May 23: Alton Weagle Day presented by The Mount Washington Auto Road – Gorham, NH – Alton Weagle had a passion for Mt. Washington. To show his passion, he climbed the Mt. Washington Auto Road in a number of unique ways: by car, on foot, walking backward, blindfolded, and finally pushing a wheelbarrow full of sugar … just to name a few. This day honors his spirit and the spirit of all the unique ascents: camels, Segways, and even the odd pogo sticks that have been the first up the mountain. Do you think you’re up to it? We invite you to dream up a “first ascent” of some kind and submit your idea – you just may get invited to celebrate with us!
  • May 23: Mountain Clean-up & Pig Roast at the Waterville Valley Ski Resort – Waterville Valley, NH – Join us in keeping our White Mountain sanctuary thriving by volunteering to help clean up Mount Tecumseh! Over the last year, thousands of guests have experienced the family fun that our beloved mountain brings, and to give back to the space we love so much, it is up to us to keep the woods and trails free of rubbish and debris. Afterward, we want to thank our volunteers by pigging out with an outdoor pig roast! | 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
  • May 23: Osceola Library Book Sale – Waterville Valley, NH – Support the Osceola Library and bring home books for the whole family to cherish! | 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
  • May 23: Nashville Revue – The Barnstormers Theatre. Tamworth, NH – Back by popular demand! Jonathan Sarty and the New Country Gentlemen return to The Barnstormers to celebrate American Country Music’s Legends. | 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
  • May 23: North Country Comedy Series – North Country Center for the Arts at Jean’s Playhouse. Lincoln, NH – Featuring a stellar lineup of New England based stand-up maestros and comedic virtuosos, the North Country Comedy Series offers the perfect holiday weekend activities throughout the year. Host Greg Boggis brings to the Playhouse a different featured act and headliner for each and every hilarious encounter.
  • May 24 through May 31: Christmas Farm Inn’s 80th Anniversary Celebration – Christmas Farm Inn & Spa. Jackson, NH – As part of Christmas Farm Inn’s 80th year, we’re celebrating with a special week-long experience honoring the Inn’s history, its place in Jackson, and the people who helped shape it.
  • May 24: 36th Annual Chowderfest – Waterville Valley, NH – Head to Town Square just in time for lunch as area restaurants vie for the coveted title of best local chowder!  Admission fee covers generous samples (up to 24oz!) of chowder and a voting ballot to name the best chowder of this year. | 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
  • May 24: Ice Cream Social – Waterville Valley, NH – Over a dozen toppings and 6 ice cream flavors to choose from! | 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
  • May 24: Wildquack Duck Race & Music Festival – Jackson, NH – Fair Food, Kids Games, Live Music Entertainment with Dennis & Davey as well as Al Shafner, surprises, silent auction and Duckie Races. More than $10,000 given out in cash and prizes.
  • May 25: Town of Carroll Memorial Day Parade – Carroll, NH – Join the town of Carroll for a Memorial Day Parade followed by a barbecue at the Carroll Fire Station. | 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
