Wow! This historic home, known locally as the Stevens Estate, was built by the US Ambassador to Siam (now Thailand) in 1936 in the style of the grand government estates of Washington, DC. A short drive from Littleton, NH, America's "Glad City" and one of the top 10 "Best Small Towns in the USA," this grand, majestic Post and Beam estate is an amazing and unique home base for exploring the White Mountains, just 30 minutes from Cannon Mountain and Franconia Notch, 45 minutes from Bretton Woods, and a short drive to stunning Kinsman Notch and the amazing Lost River Gorge.  Without compromising on its timeless beauty, the home has been recently expanded to include a brand new luxury kitchen and mudroom. The kitchen is a chef's paradise, with Bosch brand steam oven, convection oven, 6 burner BlueStar range, and large French Door style Bosch refrigerator and did I mention the extra-cozy heated floor? A separate coffee corner includes its own sink, Keurig coffee maker, and tea kettle. On the main level the living room and dining room share the same grand space with high ceilings up to through the 3rd level. A gas fireplace in the dining room creates a fantastic ambience on a cold winter evening. Off of the living room, an office room is a great option for those looking to work remotely and spend a little extra time in this slice of paradise - and with blazing fast, 100 mbps+ wifi, why not?  The office also has a gas fireplace - it's a remote worker's dream! - and a large assortment of games to keep the family entertained. Upstairs on the second level you will find three bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Each bedroom has direct access to a bathroom, and the master bedroom also features a gas fireplace. On the 3rd level are two more bedrooms, a bathroom, and a pool table all complimented with wonderful light from the many windows. This space is perfect for creating memories & laughter, or to treat your loved ones to a getaway they will not soon forget. Take in a deep breath of fresh mountain air and experience the peacefulness and bliss!

There is a newly added entry to the home. A few remaining pieces of the construction are not yet completed including the siding and upgraded steps.
This Home does not have AC. Our climate is mild and AC is generally not needed.
There is a kids playground in the yard that is shown in some of the pictures. This playset is not suitable for use.

-Guest will be required to sign a rental agreement to comply with insurance requirements. You can view a sample agreement on our website.
-Check-in: Any time after 4PM; Check-out: 11 am.  Unauthorized early arrivals or late checkouts subject to $100/hr fee. 
-Parking Limit: 3 Vehicles. Please contact Bretton Woods Vacations if you have any questions.
- No Unauthorized Guests or Pets: Guest and pet count must match the number in your reservation. Please let us know if the number has changed. Unauthorized pets or guests subject to $300 fee and immediate termination of your stay with no refunds.  Absolutely NO PARTIES without express authorization. Pet fee for pet friendly units ($100/pet per stay) is not included in Airbnb quotes. 
-Quiet Hours: From 10 p.m. to 8 a.m., please keep noise to a minimum. During the day, please make sure noise levels are low enough not to bother others, and never leave a barking dog unattended! No fireworks on property.  A $100 fee may be imposed for violations of these rules.  
-No smoking inside the unit; $250 fee for violation.
-We are in Bear Country! No trash or food is to be left outside at any time; $100 fee for violations.
-Some of our homes are equipped with exterior cameras for security purposes.
-We have relaxed our cancellation policies. However, please note that there will be no exception to these policies, for no reason, no matter what the circumstances. Travel insurance is available on our website and from a variety of other sources; it is the traveler's responsibility to decide whether to protect their purchase or not. Due to contractual obligations with property owners, we will not be able to make any exceptions under any circumstances.
-Our homes are in rural locations in the North Country. We live in a beautiful environment surrounded by pristine natural habitats, and share this land with a variety of animals. We do our best to ensure a proper balance between pest control and health concerns and appreciate your patience if a critter may find its way in. Our team is always available to come take care of it. To help prevent issues, please refrain from leaving doors propped open and avoid leaving food in open space which could attract rodents and/or insects.
