2025 NH Maple Experience (per person)
Learn about New Hampshire's sweetest season with this hands-on program for all ages which leads participants through the fascinating history of the sugaring tradition, from techniques to gather and boil sap used by Native Americans to those employed by the earliest European settlers and right up to the most modern methods for turning sap into syrup.
Held by the Forest Society at Bethlehem's famous The Rocks, this program will allow visitors to learn how to identify and tap a sugar maple tree, enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride through the historic estate, and talk with a fourth-generation sugar maker as he plies his trade in the sweet-scented steam of a working sugar house. Next door to the sugarhouse, the interactive New Hampshire Maple Museum displays maple sugaring tools, from historic to modern.
Of course, no Maple Experience would be complete without sampling the finished product, paired with fresh cider donuts and a sour pickle – to offset the sweetness of the syrup – for a unique tasting experience. Even better, participants will receive a bottle of Bretton Woods Vacations' own homemade maple syrup, made right here at the Moose Lodge and Cabins on wood fire for an irresistibly smoky flavor.
Tour are available every hour from 10-2 pm (i.e, 10 am, 11 am, 12 pm, 1 pm, 2 pm) at The Rocks on the following dates:
